Statement Following 2020 Republican Primary Election for Pennsylvania’s 86th House District
Longtime Republican Party leader, champion of rural areas, farmer and small businessman Perry Stambaugh released the following statement after his primary election victory.
“Tuesday’s victory is thanks to the incredible support our campaign has received from voters across Cumberland and Perry counties. Our campaign centered on being a strong voice for working families and businesses, and pursuing goals in Harrisburg—lower taxes, less regulation, investing in infrastructure such as roads and broadband, and in significant government reforms—that will help our rural communities and those across the state quickly rebound from the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The last few months have been marked with numerous challenges to residents of the 86th District. So, to all those who voted today, whether by mail or in person, thank you for your commitment to democracy. And to my campaign supporters and volunteers, I’m grateful for your time and dedication during what’s been an unprecedented chapter in American history. I also thank my challengers for waging positive campaigns and for focusing on the issues this election.
“To all those who cast a ballot for me, thank you. To those who voted for another candidate or did not vote, I look forward to earning your trust and support in advance of November’s General Election as we develop public policy that grows our economy, protects our rural heritage, supports our veterans, and ‘says no’ to socialist policies in Harrisburg. Pennsylvania will never become a socialist state.
“Tuesday’s outcome brings our campaign one step closer to continuing the great work State Representative Mark Keller has done—and continues to do—for the 86th District and our Commonwealth.”
