Perry Stambaugh Announces Re-Election Bid for 86th State House District
State Rep. Perry Stambaugh today announced he will run for re-election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, serving the 86th State Legislative District.
“While we don’t yet know the final boundaries of the 86th State House District, I’m looking forward to continuing efforts by our Republican caucus to implement real solutions that will improve the lives of residents in the 86th District and across the state.”
As a member of the General Assembly, Stambaugh noted, “Day in and day out, I’ve been a strong voice for working families. I’ve advocated for economic and tax policies that help entrepreneurs, small businesses, and our agribusinesses strengthen our region’s economy.”
Keeping his promise to his constituents, Perry is one of the few members of the state legislature who refuses to accept a state pension, believing it violates the Pennsylvania Constitution and adds to our state's $76 billion (and growing) pension debt.
Among many accomplishments, Stambaugh cited his introduction of a state constitutional amendment to eliminate school property taxes; filings with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to hold CenturyLink accountable for its poor service in Perry, Juniata, and Cumberland counties; and measures to increase rural broadband access, including the recent creation of the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority.
A graduate of Penn State University, Stambaugh resides in Green Park where he operates Green Pastures Farms, a 200-acre family farm.
This year’s Pennsylvania Primary Election is currently set for May 17, 2022.
